The BRAVO awards – which stands for Brighton Restaurant Awards Vote Online – is the only local food awards voted for 100 percent by the public, giving everyone in the city the chance to shout about their favourite foodie spots. And boy do Brightoners love to share the love about their favourite indie eateries! Last year there were over 24,000 votes in BRAVO’s first year – I’m very glad it’s not my job to count the votes!
In 2017, 37 restaurants popped up in Brighton, and I’m sure we’ll see a lot of those on the list of favourites at the BRAVO awards. There are 16 diverse categories in the awards, and ANYONE can vote! You don’t have to be in the industry, a food blogger or chef – this is the awards for all Brightonians.
This year two new categories have been added, Plant Champions and Best Instagram. I’m especially excited to get voting for Plant Champions, since becoming a vegetarian it’s been really eye opening to see which Brighton restaurants/cafes are catering to people living veggie/vegan lifestyles.
And, of course, I love a good Instagram!
