Review: Brunch @ Ezra & Gil, Manchester

Last weekend I jumped on a coach and headed to Manchester for a girls weekend up north. We had nothing in mind really planned, except doing a lot of eating and drinking.

After an evening of cocktails, food and documentaries (we’re so cool) we woke up on Saturday feeling hungry and ready to explore brunch in the city.

We drove into the city headed for Federal Cafe, a proper Instagrammer’s dream. Sadly they were closed due to a leak, so we hungrily googled where else we could go that was nearby.

Next stop was Rosylee, a very posh spot for breakfast. We were let down again as they had no room to fit us in. By this time we were all pretty hangry and didn’t have the energy to look very far for somewhere else to go. McDonalds breakfast was on the cards before Sophie spotted somewhere in the distance. Ezra & Gil.

The place was busy but we managed to find a spot to sit down and scanned the menu.

Food 

I decided to create my own breakfast which worked out cheaper than ordering a full E&G breakfast. Beans on sourdough toast, which were topped with Parmesan and grilled. I added on scrambled free range eggs & some roast ham. Everyone had food envy and the whole dish was incredibly good – and filling!

Faith went for the avocado on toast with poached eggs and added halloumi. The eggs were poached perfectly and the avo was full of flavour with the added chilli and crumbled feta.

Sophie went for the maple syrup porridge with fruit, and smooth peanut butter on sourdough toast. So filling and really tasty.

All three of us went for completely different breakfasts, but each one wowed us in different ways. We sat around chatting for a few hours over our coffees and didn’t feel like we were being rushed out at all by the staff.
