Marmalade, Brighton: Breakfast Review

Marmalade, Brighton: Breakfast Review

I have been dying to go to Marmalade for a long time. Seeing photos of their breakfasts on Instagram just gave me food envy. However, it’s a little out of my way so I never got round to popping in. I’m all about convenience and ain’t nobody got time for jumping on a bus to grab breakfast!

I work a 4-day week, where I have to work one Friday in the month. Last month I decided to spend that Friday in Marmalade with my colleague Caitlin. I could finally find out what all the fuss was about!

Marmalade’s Interior

The interior of Marmalade is really cute and quirky. It’s warm and inviting and although it looks small from the outside, the cafe splits across two floors. They do still get super busy and full. I arrived at 9am to secure a table and by 10.30am the place was heaving. It’s clearly popular among the locals!

We both went for wake me up smoothies, which were really fruity and definitely woke us up. Caitlin had dippy eggs and soldiers with a cute cupcake, the only downside was that the eggs weren’t peeled. I don’t know if cafes usually do this or not? But it made for messy eating!

I had a craving for beans, god knows why, so I ordered scrambled egg on toast and added a side of beans for £1. The scrambled eggs were perfect, the best I’ve ever had when eating breakfast out. Really impressed and the food came quickly and was hot on arrival.

It’s easy to see why people like Marmalde so much. I will definitely head back when I’m in the area!
