I was up and out of bed before 9am this morning, on a Sunday, without a hangover. Who have I become? I quite like it though.
This morning I’m off to meet some Brighton Girls for pancakes and then Josh and I are doing the last of our holiday shopping before we head to Mallorca on Saturday. This afternoon we might be going for dinner at Josh’s mums and then chilling out for the evening, the perfect Sunday really.
On Tuesday I cooked for Josh for a change to celebrate being together for a while now. Precisely 1.5 years, and I know it’s not a big milestone or anything but I felt like doing something nice.
I’ve been known to create some proper disasters in the kitchen which is why Josh is the head chef in our house, but thankfully everything went to plan. We had scallops in a butter and rosemary sauce for starters and then a chicken, chorizo and prawn paella for main.
We finally wrote about our visit to BeFries, we’re planning a trip back soon after we get back from our holiday! I suggest you check them out if you haven’t already.
Friday night we went to Smashburger for one of their pre-launch evenings. Sadly, we left quite disappointed with our meal. The burger scene in Brighton is hard to beat and with Smashburger being an American chain we were expecting more. We came to the conclusion that it was no better than a BK Whopper and we probably would have chosen a BK over the burger we had. The chips were the only saving grace, however the sweet potato fries weren’t as good as GBK’s. Hopefully they up their game after a few months of being open!
Saturday nights dinner thankfully redeemed the weekend. We had some credit to use on Wriggle and saw that you could get a starter, main and drink at Nuposto so we snapped up the deal and headed down there. Full review coming next week!
Along with some catch ups with friends that was mostly it for this week, it felt fairly quiet compared to last and I’m sure this week will be madness with holiday packing.
I better go, I’m sat in PJ’s and I’m supposed to be eating pancakes in 20 minutes…
