7 Days of Food & More… #6

7 Days of Food & More… #6

We’re having a pretty productive Sunday so far; I’ve been to the launderette, Josh has cleaned the kitchen, I’ve done some hoovering and we’ve just had a fry up. Our plan for the rest of the day is to do more grown up stuff like buying a new frying pan and doing a food shop seeing as we spent most of yesterday laying around in the dark eating pizza and watching films.

Monday evening we had our fortnightly editorial meeting for Brighton Girl Mag and this week we had the pleasure of eating this massive delicious cake, which was gifted to Kim by Lawley’s Bakery to review. Laura, who runs the bakery, actually went to school with Josh (small world!) and is an incredibly talented baker. We had a four layer vanilla sponge, with homemade raspberry jam and meringue, and you just know it tasted as good as it looked!

Our favourite meal of the week were these BBQ enchiladas, which we then topped with salsa salad and coriander and lime yoghurt dressing. We’ll definitely be posting this as a recipe in the coming weeks, it was so good and inspired by the taquitos we had at Wahaca.

On Friday afternoon I saw Tania from TeaBeeBlog post on Facebook that she was going to see Motion City Soundtrack’s last ever UK gig. Josh has loved this band since he was 14 and had recently started listening to them again, so I jumped on Ticketmaster and saw there were still tickets left! We spontaneously decided to go, so travelled up to London that evening and saw them. We stopped off at Nandos along the way and had a few drinks on the train too. The show was amazing and definitely worth the trip!

Saturday morning I headed down to North Laine Brewery for a Bottomless Brunch with some Brighton Girls. Contrary to how it sounds, the food isn’t bottomless, it’s actually the drinks which is fine by me! To eat I had the veggie breakfast and to drink I had about 10000 mimosas. Well, not quite, I completely lost track of how many I drank. They go down too easily. It’s only £20 for the lot so definitely worth heading down there with some friends next time you wanna get day time tipsy.

Being super tired from two nights of very little sleep, Josh and I spent the rest of Saturday on the sofa with a pizza and watching TV. We watch The Little Prince, a new Netflix original film, which was really good. Then we watched a few seasons of The Mitchell & Webb Look before having an early night, we’re so cool.

How’s your week been? Let us know in the comments!
