A Little Sunday Summary #7

Happy Valentine’s Day! Whether you’re in a relationship or single, there seems to be a pretty big divide between people that love the day and people that hate hate hate it. My outlook has changed over the years from being in the group of people that hate it, to kinda loving it. I’m seeing it more as the time of year to tell your loved ones just how much they mean to you. Hence Galentine’s day! If you haven’t read about what Cate and I got up to yet, you can here.

This week has been super busy and also full of good things. If you know me, you probably know that I was made redundant at work at the beginning of the year. This week, thanks to the very lovely Pippa at Brighton Girl Mag I now have a new job which I’m starting on Thursday at the Think Productive HQ. Exciting times!

I met Pippa Says last weekend to have a chat about her latest project, the launch of Brighton Girl Mag. I love the idea behind this, giving girls in Brighton a community to support each other and to open up opportunities to one another. You should sign up to the fortnightly newsletter and you’ll get to read some posts by myself too!

For Christmas Josh’s parents bought us two tickets to go and see The Book of Mormon at the Prince of Wales Theatre for this week. We went to the matinee on Wednesday and I can confidently say that it is the best show I have ever seen.

If you haven’t heard of it, it’s a show written by Trey Parker and Matt Stone who are responsible for South Park so you kinda have to expect jokes that cross the line. It’s described as religious satire and the audience seemed very divided throughout, the gentleman next to me didn’t clap once throughout the entire show, whilst Josh was almost crying with laughter. If you get the chance you should definitely go and see it, Josh and I have been singing the songs ever since and we forced Cate to listen to them on her birthday.

We went to Five Guys for dinner afterwards which I have been dying to try ever since Josh went a couple of months ago and it did not disappoint. A bit expensive though, £30 for two burgers, a side and two drinks! That’s London for you.

We were very lucky to win the Sauce Shops twitter giveaway this week and were sent these three sauces. Peanut Butter, Lime and Coriander and Nottinghamshire sauce, we’ve already been mulling over the rest of their sauces trying to decide what to get next!

We’ve got a Valentines Day inspired recipe coming for you later on today, featuring some delicious Haagen-Dazs ice cream, so keep your eyes peeled.

Josh and I are going for a Valentine’s Day dinner at Hotel Du Vin tonight so expect lots of photos and possibly a review coming later in the week.

What are you guys up to today?
