Recipe: Milk Chocolate & Peanut Brownies | Jess & Josh Cook

Josh is the devil. The other night he had a craving for some brownies and so with the chocolate we still have leftover from Christmas he made these brownies, knowing full well I can’t eat any on my diet. Evil. I may or may not have caved and had one brownie, but I managed to stop myself eating the entire plate.


What You’ll Need – Makes 16 

  • 200g Cadbury’s dairy milk
  • 125g butter
  • 85g plain flour
  • 170g granulated sugar
  • 3 tbsp peanut butter
  • 2 large eggs
  • 1 tbsp cocoa powder + extra for dusting
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1/4 tsp baking powder
  • 2 tbsp olive oil
  • 100g crushed peanuts
  • A pinch of salt



  1. Preheat oven to 180 degrees
  2. Grease 8 inch square baking tin with butter and dust with cocoa powder
  3. Put a small saucepan with cold water on a medium/low heat
  4. Place a bowl on top so it’s not touching the water
  5. Break chocolate and butter into small pieces into the bowl and melt slowly
  6. Add peanut butter and olive oil
  7. Once melted, allow to cool
  8. In a large bowl mix sugar and eggs and mix well
  9. Add flour, vanilla, cocoa powder, salt and baking powder
  10. Add the cooled chocolate and mix well
  11. Once fully combined pour into the greased baking tin
  12. Top with the crushed peanuts
  13. Bake for 30 minutes then allow to cool for 15 minutes
